Meet Adam Howell

Hello, my name is Adam Howell, and I am the primary contributor for the Daily Dose of Hebrew. I grew up in East Tennessee, and attended East Tennessee State University for my undergraduate degrees in Microbiology and Chemistry. I met my wife, Liz, while at ETSU. We married in 2004 and now have four children, Noah (9), Tovah (7), Judah (5), and Norah (4). I began studying at Southern Seminary in the Fall of 2003 and completed my M.Div. in Biblical and Theological Studies in December 2007. I began the Ph.D. in Old Testament Studies in 2008 and finished that degree in May of 2015. I am Associate Professor of Old Testament Interpretation at Boyce College, the undergraduate school at Southern Seminary.
I am incredibly grateful for the vision of Daily Dose of Hebrew. My heart in teaching is to see God’s people develop a love for the biblical languages, not because there is inherent value in the language itself, but because the biblical languages help us mine the depths of God’s Word. Daily Dose of Hebrew provides the opportunity for students of the Bible to study the original Hebrew so that they can continue to hone the skills of “digging for gold” in God’s Word. I am incredibly honored to be a part of a vision that seeks to keep students learning the Bible for life.
Meet Mark Futato

My name is Mark Futato, and I am the Robert L. Maclelland Professor of OT at Reformed Theological Seminary in Orlando, Florida.
I have been teaching Hebrew to seminarians since 1988. I have always enjoyed watching students fall in love with Hebrew and the Hebrew Scriptures. Some of these students are still using the Hebrew they learned, but many are not for a variety of reasons. I started the Daily Dose of Hebrew to help you, whether rusty or not, to enjoy and benefit from the study of the Old Testament in Hebrew.
Meet Jonathan Ahlgren

My name is Jonathan Ahlgren, and I serve as the Webmaster/Administrator for the Daily Dose Ministry. In addition to helping with the Daily Dose ministry, I serve as the Associate Vice President for Online Learning at Southern Seminary. I am married to Hannah, and we have three children: Jude, Jubilee, and Hadassah.

All the Biblical Languages
The Daily Dose ministry produces daily videos across various biblical languges, including Greek, Hebrew, Aramaic, and Latin. Through these various websites, we provide ongoing accountability to busy pastors and other Christians, helping them to read the biblical languages daily and progress in their language skills.
For every tribe and tongue
Readers of the Greek New Testament around the world can also find Daily Dose videos in their native lagnauge. We have now expanded our offerings, working with native speaking teachers of Greek and Hebrew to produce videos in Spanish, Korean, and Chinese.
Frequently Asked Questions
What software do you use?
The Hebrew text is cut & pasted from Bible Software into Microsoft OneNote. I use the “Draw” feature in OneNote and a Surface Pro, recording all the fun with Camtasia. Someone else set it up for me, so please don’t ask me how to do it.
Can I take an actual class with you?
Sure. Boyce College Southern Seminary offers online and on-campus classes. If you are not looking for a seminary education, I also lead Adullam Reading Courses where I lead a community of learners though a book of the Bible.
I signed up for the daily email, but I am not receiving it?
Two main problems can exist. First, when you fill out our sign-up form, you should immediately receive a confirmation email asking you to verify you want to receive our daily emails. If you do not click the verification, you will not be added to our list. You must click the verification email link.
Second issue is our emails potentially being blocked by your server or email program as “Spam”. Please look in your “Spam” folder, “Promotions” folder, or anyplace else it might be automatically moved by your server. There is a potential that your employer or school may be filtering our email completely. Please contact your IT department if you suspect this. If you are still having problems, please email us at [email protected] and we will add your name to our system. One last favor. If you know of anyone else having problems, please tell them to contact me as well.
Is there any cost for receiving the Daily Dose videos?
No. Everything is available for free. We do, however, have regular costs accosted with the production and distribution of our videos and are glad to receive donations. A big thank you to those who have donated. Click here to find out how to donate.
Are you open to suggestions/requests?
Sure. No promises, but feel free to send your suggestions and requests to [email protected], note that I tape videos up to 2 months in advance, so even if I can incorporate your suggestion, it might take a couple of months.
Is there something like this for Greek?
Yes. The Daily Dose of Greek.
